We can find interesting reports in the historical accounts of travels of old times and literature works. We can speak in reality about the tourism of Pest county from the turn of 19 and 20 centuries. Many settlements of the Danube band, for example Leányfalu, Visegrád, Szentendre and Zebegény became popular places of excursion and rest area of the Budapest citizens. The network of marked tour routes has been made in the mountains of the environs of Budapest, and the organized hiking has started. Nowadays the tourism became an independent line of industry, satisfying all needs on the total territory of the county.
